Metamorphosis is a meditative photographic series that traces the invisible labour of healing, with nature as both guide and witness. Drawing on personal transformation, it explores internal seasons of rupture, stillness, and return—mapping the invisible terrain and intimate journey of healing through the elemental language of nature. Mist, breath, light, and colours become portals into a world where time softens, and change moves in silence.
The images are made with the artist’s breath. She marks both the present moment and her own existence by exhaling onto the lens of her camera. In the fleeting moment between the fog engulfing the scene and dissipating quietly, she records what her breath decides to reveal.
The photo series inhabits the liminal space where the self begins to dissolve, interconnect, and reconfigure. The process unfolds like the rhythms of the Earth. Each image holds the weight of the present and of transition – fragments that emerge like afterimages of memory or sensation. In this threshold, the boundaries between body and landscape dissolve, while the natural world becomes the force that holds, humbles, and transforms.
Metamorphosis is a gesture of surrender – an opening to the unseen forces that shape us when we stop resisting change. Rooted in both personal experience and growing scientific understanding, the work affirms what research now confirms: that time spent in nature supports emotional resilience, nervous system regulation, and the restoration of both mind and body. It speaks to the possibility that healing begins not with action, but with attention.
