About

Ratika is a visual artist working at the intersection of transformation, embodiment, and nature-based storytelling. Her practice integrates photography, film, and poetic text to explore inner change through the lens of the natural world. Drawing on years of work in remote and elemental landscapes – from forests and oceans to high-altitude mountains and deserts- her work meditates on cycles of rupture and renewal, ecological intimacy, and the healing potential of nature and stillness.

She is particularly interested in the human relationship to land, breath, and light – how place shapes emotional experience and how the Earth’s rhythms echo our own. Her photographs often dwell in the quiet space between presence and disappearance. Her work has been exhibited, published, and supported internationally, and she continues to develop long-form projects that centre resilience and belonging in a changing world.

A Filmmaker and published writer, Ratika’s work has been recognised by Leica Akademie North America (2020) and featured at venues like the British Film Institute (UK, 2018), Kochi- Muziris Biennale (India, 2012), Obscura Photo Festival (Malaysia, 2017), The Reach (Canada 2021), IAWRT Film Festival (India, 2015), IWFFIS (South Korea, 2015), Abracadabra Art Festival (Nepal, 2019) among others.

She has participated in residencies such as Into the Woods (India, 2017), the Kochi-Muziris Students’ Biennale (India, 2012), Jaipur Fringe (India, 2024) and received Creative Interruptions grant (UK, 2018).
